Artist: Devin Meyer

Born in South Carolina in the eighties but naturalized in New Orleans, Devin Meyer is a self-taught folk artist (you may have seen his redhead car around town), a teacher, a red-beaner, and lover of new orleans music and culture.

Medium: recycled political campaign signs and paint

Byrdie's is the newest addition to the hip St. Claude area. If you love great art, enjoy excellent coffee and tea, or have ever had a hankering to play with clay, Byrdie's is the spot for you. The gallery side of Byrdie's has just been added to the fabulous list of SCAD galleries. The studio portion of the shop will soon be offering classes in wheel thrown pottery. Finally, the tea & coffee shop is home to fresh locally roasted coffee as well teas imported from around the world. So come down and check out the newest spot on St. Claude Ave!

Brother, Can You Spare a Day?

2012 is a leap year, meaning that February graciously offers an additional day to our calendar year. The members of Staple Goods have decided to seize this offering as an opportunity to consider our relationship to the tick of the clock, the turn of the calendar page, and the like. We invite you to submit works in any medium that deal with concepts of time, calendars, unexpected extras, second chances, or other subjects that the consideration of Leap Year conjures.
